o sign a document with an electronic signature, you must have the software from the ID.ee website installed on your computer.

NB! If you have previously signed documents in the Estonian Commercial Register, this software is already installed on your computer.

Step 1. Open the folder with the file you want to sign.

Step 2. Right-click on the file and select “Sign with DigiDoc4 Client” from the context menu.

Step 3. In the dialog window that opens in DigiDoc, assign a new name to the file or leave the name unchanged, select the location where you want to save the signed file, and click the “Save” button.

Step 4. Click the button in the bottom right corner of the DigiDoc program labeled “SIGN WITH ID-CARD” or choose another preferred method (MOBILE-ID or SMART ID).

Step 5. In the dialog box that opens, enter PIN2 and click “OK.”

Step 6. If the signing is successful, you will see the message “Signature is valid.”

Step 7. Close the DigiDoc program and open the folder where you saved the signed file. The signed file will be in .asice format. This is the file you need to send back to the party who requested the document to be signed.
